Montauk’s Surf Lodge sister, that is. Ruschmeyer’s; deemed the most highly anticipated hot spot to hit the Hampton’s scene this summer. Opening its doors Memorial Day weekend Rushmeyer’s, dubbed the sea-side ‘Summer Camp’. A hotel brought back to life (movie plot anyone) originally opened in 1952. The current re-model boasts 19 ‘cabins’, restaurant, and a bar or two. Did I mention the beer garden?
Ruschmeyer’s sporting scene is also on spot. With everything from ping pong to kite surfing, paddle boarding, yoga, bike rentals, hiking trails, to a recovery room (a.k.a. SPA) for those of you who tend to over extend yourselves! Among the wooden lawn lies a teepee, a treehouse and plenty of hammocks for lazing in the sun – after all of that excercizing is done. If you happen to acquire an appetite, take note of the menu, Silkstone and the guys behind Fat Radish in NYC custom curated a locally sourced, farm fresh, and sea savvy menu.
The brains behind this operation is none other than Rob McKinley, also noted for the launch from conceptualized to cha-mazing; Montauk’s Surf Lodge and New York City’s Gold Bar. His insight into the up and coming is right on point, giving New Yorker’s that so-called ‘spot’ where they have been longing to be. Ruschmeyer’s; A summer camp, right by the sea.
Lights OUT campers! Well, until the counselors check in.
