Pop To It!


Disclaimer: I plan to use more iterations of ‘pop’ metaphors throughout this post than I probably should – but it’s just so hard to stop!

After a long, glutenous weekend in the famously ‘foodie’ town of San Francisco, lacking the motivation to drag myself to the gym and work it off, I needed something more.  So I popped right on into POP Physique’s newly opened Century City location in Los Angeles (Pico Blvd) to size up the new ‘it’ class that everyone here has been buzzing about.  Could this new POP method satisfy my appetite for a hardcore workout?  

First observations – great aesthetic vibe, each class venue is outfitted with ballet barres and a springy dance floor for a shock-absorbing, catapulting effect – because it’s all about the POP.  Class size is capped at 15 so you can be assured that you will have room to move and get the personal attention you deserve (ie: NO SLACKING!)  

60 minutes later – After an hour of popping and sculpting my way through mix of ballet, Pilates, and light weights, every major(&minor!) muscle groups were worked to fatigue.  

My 2 cents – The workout stood up to the hype – hardcore, fat-burning, fun, smart, and just so ‘in’.  I’m sold – an all-in-one fun&fitness solution completed in less than an hour of pulsing to the beat of a killer sound track most definitely deserves a place in my exercise regimen.  

If you’re looking for motivation, I suggest that you veer of your regular routine and take a POP class to get the (sweaty) spring back in your step.  Seriously though, once ya pop, ya just won’t be able to stop!  Trust me on this one – check out class locations and schedules by clicking on the link below.
